This is a 10* TOP NL TOTAL on the OVER Cardinals/Braves.
Both teams have been involved in several lower-scoring games of late, but all signs point to those trends ending this evening in what we predict will be a total "slug-fest."
The Cardinals have seen the total go UNDER six of their last seven, including in three straight. That includes losing three in a row as well, including the first two this series, including falling 7-1 yesterday.
Note though that the Cards have seen the total go OVER the number in seven of their last ten after playing to three or more straight UNDERS in a row, and in eight of their last 12 in trying to avenge two or more straight losses against an opponent.
The Braves have now seen the total go UNDER in four straight.
These starting pitchers have been solid this year. St. Louis goes with Miles Mikolas (5-6, 2.61 ERA), while the home side counters with Max Fried (8-2, 2.66.)
It's difficult to try and find many negative things to say about either starter, so I'm not going to bother. This is just a case of each being in the wrong place, at the wrong time this evening.
The situation and the numbers/trends all point to the OVER as the correct call finally in this series.
