St. Louis has now seen the total go UNDER the number in eight straight games. It snapped a two-game slide at home to the Phillies in last night's 4-3 victory.
We unfortunately had a play on the OVER in that one, but while that pick came up short, we expect Monday's series finale to finally provide some offensive fireworks.
Note that despite having still played to several lower-scoring games, the Cardinals have still seen the total go OVER the number in nine of their last 13 after playing to five or more straight UNDERS in a row.
The Phillies have now seen the total go UNDER in five straight.
Both starting pitchers have been decent as well, but we believe that they're in the wrong place at the wrong time tonight.
The Cardinals turn to Miles Mikolas (5-7, 2.72 ERA), while the Phillies counter with Aaron Nola (5-6, 3.15.)
Of concern for Philadelphia is the fact that it used five relievers in Sunday's bullpen game as well.
As I say, we understand that these starters have had success against their respective opponents today in the past, but the situation and the numbes/trends all point to the value finally swinging the other way as far as the total is concerned in this one in our opinions.
Look for this total to fly OVER the number sooner, rather than later.
