Middle Tennessee and San Diego State face off in the EasyPost Hawai’i Bowl game. Both teams are 7-5 this season. Middle Tennessee won four of their last five games including three straight. The Blue Raiders are all about the pass. They are 31st in the nation in passing yards a game. Quarterback Chase Cunningham has thrown for 2,920 yards with 19 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. On the defensive side of the ball, they give up 28.1 points a game and rank 27th in the country in stopping the run but 129th against the pass. The Blue Raiders are 5-6-1 against the spread this season. They are 2-4 against the spread when they are underdogs by 10 points or less.

San Diego State had a three-game winning streak going before it was snapped in the last game of the season by Air Force. SDSU is all about the run. They have four rushers that receive carries. Running backs Jordan Byrd, Jaylon Armstead and Kenan Christon will all see action in this game as they try and bludgeon the defense. The defense is giving up just 20.2 points a game. They are ranked 35th in passing yards allowed and 37th in rushing yards allowed. They are 5-7 against the spread and just 2-4 when they are favored.
San Diego State will rely on its three different running backs and mobile quarterback, to wear down the MTSU defense and keep the offense off the field. The Aztecs will use play-action to get some chunk plays and stop the defense from selling out to stop the run.
