Stanford lost a lot of defensive talent from last year, but still has more than enough offense to put up big numbers against one of the worst defenses in the country. Rice surrendered more than 37 points per game last season and gave up the sixth-most yards in the country. Opponents averaged a whopping 7.4 yards per play versus the Owls.

The Owls are underrated offensively, though, thanks to a strong offensive line. The Cardinal are breaking in new safeties and minus star pass rusher Solomon Thomas.

Stanford doesn't have dynamic Christian McCaffrey any more, but are deep at running back and its offensive line is healthy.
