Taking SAN DIEGO here. We rode the Pirates last night, and I will be the first to admit I do not like fading teams on win streaks. And Pitt, sitting at 6 in row, are on a nice little run. But at this price, I am grabbing Shields. Liriano has not pitched well of late. A 6.60 ERA his last 15 innings. Yes, he gave up 7 runs in 2+ vs the Twins, so maybe that is skewed. But so is giving up just 1 in 6 to the weak hitting Mets. Say he is somewhere between that. That being said, Shields has been excellent this season. 82Ks in 62 innings. A tidy WHIP.
