On Tuesday, the LA Kings acquired defenseman Dion Phaneuf and center Nate Thompson from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for forwards Marian Gaborik and Nick Shore. That didn't stop them from taking a 4-1 loss to Pittsburgh on Thursday, their third consecutive setback. Tough spot for the Kings here, playing an afternoon game far away from home and playing their fifth straight on the road. Also note that they've lost eight straight meetings with the Sabres here at Buffalo.

The Sabres have won three of their last five and I think the value is on the home team.
