Here's a great situational play in my opinion. LA has an immediate chance to revenge a 118-108 home loss to Chicago on Sunday. The Lakers have had a few days off to prepare for this one. Meanwhile, the Bulls would suffer the 124-112 loss at the Clippers after their win over the Lakers. The playoff race is really tight in the West, as from sixth to 11th place only two games separate all of those teams. The Lakers are right in the thick of that race at 37-38, currently ninth in the West, one game back of the Pelicans and only 1.5 games back of the Wolves, who are in sixth. The good news for the Lakers here is that LeBron James should start after coming off the bench vs. the Bulls in that last outing. James is averaging 29.3 points per game and he actually led the way in the loss to the Bulls on Sunday with 19 points. Chicago was 2-1 on that road trip and in the most recent loss to the Clippers Zach Lavine led the way in a losing cause with 23 points. Chicago is currently in tenth in the East, and it's just one game back of Toronto and Atlanta for the seventh and eighth seeds. The Bulls have been playing better of late, winning seven of their last ten, but the Lakers are 7-2 against the spread in their last nine in trying to avenge a straight-up and against-the-spread home loss against an opponent. At the same time, I think Chicago takes another step back here after its most recent setback. Look for the Lakers to exact a little revenge here; consider LA on Wednesday night!
