The Reds fell back to Earth losing, 7-3, to the Cardinals on Friday. Cincinnati entered this series having swept the Rays and winning two of three from the Yankees on the road.

Look for the Reds to lose again to the Cardinals today in a pitching matchup of lefty Nick Lodolo versus Miles Mikolas.

Lodolo has a 4.44 ERA. He's yet to pitch past the sixth inning during any of his five starts this season. The Cardinals are tough on lefties with Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arrendado. St. Louis ranks fifth in the majors against southpaws in batting average and OBP.

Mikolas has the 10th-lowest ERA in baseball at 2.62. The Cardinals have thrived against sub .500 opponents beating them 26 of the last 39 times. They have defeated the Reds four of the last five times in St. Louis.
