This is an 8* play on the Dallas Stars.
Early expectations were that the Stars would shine brightly this season but they have not lived up to the hype, winning only twice over their last 11 games. This should be a great spot against the Canes though, as Carolina is struggling as well.
The visitors are starting a five game road trip tonight coming off three consecutive losses, scoring only two goals while going 1-for-8 on the power play. They have the third worst goal per game ratio in the NHL and have won only once on the road all season long, losing six of their nine games in regulation.
Not that the Stars have a much better home record, going 1-4-4 at American Airlines Center this season. It should only be a matter of time before this talented team turn things around though. They have dominated the Canes in previous meetings, winning all of the last 10 match-ups in Dallas and four of the last five overall.
Tyler Seguin is tied with Rick Nash and Steven Stamkos for the league lead with his 12 goals, and should be hungry to get on the scoresheet after failing to get a goal in any of his last three games.
