(NHL) NY Islanders vs. Minnesota, 12/09/2014 3:00 PM, Score: 4 - 5
Money Line: -130.00 Minnesota (Home)
Result: Win
This is an 8* play on the Minnesota Wild.

The Islanders suffered a demoralizing defeat Saturday when they came up short against the Blues. They were 3-0 up after the first period, but ended up losing the game 6-4, with two of the goals coming on the penalty kill.

Not surprising with the Islanders ranking dead last on the penalty kill, giving up a goal on more than a quarter of their chances. Special teams could be the key to victory here, and the Wild's slumbering power play unit finally produced their last game, scoring on two of four opportunities.

The Islanders scored twice on the power play against the Blues as well, but don't expect a repeat here against the leagues second best penalty kill that has gone a perfect 15-for-15 over the last five games.

Zack Parise is leading the Wild with 21 points for the season and has been particularly hot recently, scoring two and assisting five over his last four games.

Take MIN.
