Rain could mess up the rest of this series because of the hurricane moving up the east coast. They should be able to fully get in Game 1 before the rains really come but one of the reasons I am playing the money line here instead of the run line is because if this is a rain shortened game that goes at least 5 innings we still have a cashable ticket and I really like our chances with the Phillies here. So we will reduce our star rating on this one since the money line is a bit pricey. First off this is only the 3rd time this season they are entering a game on a 5-game losing streak. Look for them to win again in this spot and improve to 3-0 this season when in such a situation. They have dominated the Nationals and note that Washington is now an unreal 16-53 in divisional games this season. In terms of the pitching match-up Fedde is 1-4 with a 6.54 ERA and a .333 BAA since the all star break. The Phillies just rocked him recently and then he followed that up by getting hit hard B2B times by the light-hitting Marlins. He is in trouble here. As for Falter, he has been great away from home with a 2.87 ERA and he is 5-1 last 6 decisions. He is off a bad home start versus Braves but had been on a strong consistent run before that and bounces back here against one of the worst teams in the majors. Regardless of the pitchers, the Phillies once again manage to avoid a 6-game losing streak and get the job done here. 8* PHILADELPHIA -180 (Game 1 of double header)
