NHL - This line opened up as high as a -160 even though the Islanders are on the road. Of course the markets jumped all over the home dog Capitals here and that has driven the line down to as low as a -125 as of the evening prior to game day. They key here is that it is a revenge situation for the Capitals after the Islanders knocked them out of the playoffs last season. However, Washington is currently without Ovechkin, Orlov, Kuznetsov, and Samsonov due to a health protocol violation. The Capitals have given up 3 or more goals in 5 of their 6 games this season. The stingy Islanders have had only 1 bad game defensively this season. In their other 4 games they have allowed a total of only 3 goals. Also, Isles coached by Barry Trotz and he formerly coached the Capitals which certainly helped them knock Washington out of the post-season 4 games to 1 last year.
