NFC Sunday Night Game of the Year

Drew Brees is listed as probable and knowing how much his missing last week was such an aberration, I would be very surprised if he does not. The Cowboys are terrible without Tony Romo and Dez Bryant. Brandon Weeden had some short-term success last week as recycled antique starters often do, but the point of diminishing returned happened in the fourth quarter. He is abysmal.

To beat the Saints, teams need to pass the ball successfully. A horrific QB with below average WRs cannot do that. Before last week, the Cowboys had allowed a league-best 53 yards per game on the ground. Then Devonta Freeman came along and torched the Cowboys for 141 yards and three touchdowns. Why? The offense could not longer keep the defense off the field with their two best players out.

Remember, this line implies they are even as home field is worth three points. With Brees and minus Romo and Bryant, no way the teams are even. The Super Dome in a bit prime time game is also worth about 3.5 points. Rob Ryan will force Weeden into many mistakes. Take the over on Dallas interceptions thrown.
