Perhaps Wake Forest isn't anything special this season, but there is suddenly a path to a bowl game with three winnable games on deck. Stanford, on the other hand, could only wish for such things this season. As this season has progressed, the Cardinal's introduction to the ACC has turned into something of a nightmare. Four straight losses, all by 24 points or more, confirm the downward trajectory since that rousing 26-24 Friday night win at Syracuse. Since then, however, QB Ashton Daniels has been injured, then apparently lost his job, with frosh Elijah Brown unable to ignite the offense last week and tossing two picks to boot. The Tree is also gaining barely 2 ypc in the last three losses. Meanwhile, the Deacs are at least showing they can scrap out some outright wins on the road (recently at NC State and UConn), and a big experience edge to Wake and well-traveled Hank Bachmeier, now in his sixth college season and off of an efficient 274 YP effort last week vs Jim Mora's Huskies.
