Texas at Vanderbilt
(NCAAF) Longhorns (TEX) vs. Commodores (VAN),
Point Spread: 19.00 | -110.00 Commodores (VAN) (Home)
Result: Win
Since when has Vandy been overlooking opponents...that's what good teams do, right? But maybe it's a sign of progress for the Dores after that appeared to be the case last week against Ball State, as it was earlier this season against Georgia State. After all, Vandy is now ranked! Wins over Virginia Tech, Alabama, and Kentucky, and taking Mizzou to overtime, suggests these DOres are not about to roll over, even vs. Texas, which is off a loss and likely focused but also now dealing with potential controversies at QB after Steve Sarkisian pulled Quinn Ewers for Arch Manning last week in the Georgia loss. (Might Ewers start looking over his shoulder a bit more?). The New Mexico State connection in Music City, spearheaded by fearless QB Diego Pavia, hardly appears overmatched this season, and remember how the Longhorns had problems with various middling foes (like Houston and TCU) on the road when still in the Big 12 last season.
