We're keeping an eye on the Blue Jackets, who are responding to new coach Dean Evason with a series of scrappy efforts, alternating wins and losses thus far. Saturday's effort wasn't bad either, salvaging a point at Nashville in a 4-3 OT loss. Preceding that last Tuesday, however, was a thoroughly convincing 6-2 win over Maple Leafs, with a pair of goals from Matthew Olivier and solid work in goal from Daniel Tarasov, who turned away 26 of 28 shots. Elvis Merzlikins, however, is expected to get the start tonight. Note much back-and-forth from the Oilers, who are not scoring at their usual rate (just 2.3 goals pg into tonight).
