Texans at Jets
(NFL) Texans (HOU) vs. Jets (NYJ),
Money Line: -125.00 Jets (NYJ) (Home)
Result: Win
Why on Earth we would back the Jets might require some explanation. After all, this is a team that has lost and failed to cover five straight games, and hit the eject button on its head coach during the skid. Since Robert Saleh's dismissal earlier in October, the defense, supposedly the team's strong suit, has even waned, alarmingly so. But things are often not as they seem in the NFL, and the Jets were in position to win four of the five games in their current slump. Aaron Rodgers got a bit more comfy with former target, recently-added Davante Adams, last weekend vs. the Patriots. Meanwhile, the Texans haven't been as dominant as their 6-2 record makes it seem. CJ Stroud, getting intense pressure this season, is also without top targets Nico Collins and Stefon Diggs (out for the season). Also, remember last December, when a then-favored Houston went to MetLife and exited a 30-6 loser, with Stroud handcuffed (only 91 YP) and the Jets rolling behind not Rodgers, but Zach Wilson, who passed for 301 yards and 2 TDs. Given the penchant these teams have for close games, we'd rather just take out chances on the Money Line with the Jets, to perhaps reprise their win from almost 11 months ago. Play Jets on ML
