Oilers at Predators
(NHL) Oilers (EDM) vs. Predators (NSH),
Money Line: -120.00 Predators (NSH) (Home)
Result: Loss
More fun than usual tonight on Broadway in Nashville, with Halloween festivities spilling into Bridgestone Arena, and plenty for the TV cameras to catch. What the Oilers need is someone not trick-or-treaters dressed up as Connor McDavid, but the actual Connor McDavid, on the ice, but that's a couple of weeks away at a minimum after the ankle injury he suffered on Monday night in Columbus. Surprisingly, the Oilers are 4-5-1 despite having a -13 goal differential, and now they must proceed minus McDavid for a few week. Leon Draisaitl, a former Hart Trophy winner, can pick up some of the slack, but the rest of Edmonton's lines have been ineffective, not to mention their defense and goaltending, with Stuart Skinner struggling (3.51 GAA and .872 saves; probable in goal tonight). Meanwhile the Preds have picked up the pace, snatching points in four straight games after losing their first five, and fighting back from two-goal deficits in each of the last three games, winning outright twice.
