North Carolina at Florida State
(NCAAF) Tar Heels (NC) vs. Seminoles (FSU),
Money Line: -129.00 Tar Heels (NC) (Away)
Result: Win
Some teams lost games by way of mistakes (think the NFL Jets). Some teams lose because, well, they're bad. As odd as that seems to say about FSU, it applies to the 1-7 Seminoles. They seem the greater of two potential evils here, though we're not sure that applies to the Tar Heels after their 41-14 romp past Virginia last week, breaking a 12-game winless streak vs. the line against FBS-level foes. Last week's romp might prove cathartic for Mack Brown's squad, which had been highly competitive in three of the four preceding losses. It all came together very well last week at Charlottesville, especially the defense which recorded ten sacks of Wahoo QBs. It was also an efficient effort from QB Jacolby Criswell (293 YP< 2 TDP & 0 picks) and RB Omarion Hampton (105 YR). Meanwhile, we are long past the point where we expect FSU might flip the switch this season. There's no electricity, with the offense near the bottom of FBS stats and Mike Norvell's portal adds having failed the Noles. Neither available QB, RS frosh Brock Glenn nor true frosh Luke Kromenhoek, has demonstrated they can detonate this pedestrian offense. Play North Carolina on ML
