Wisconsin at Iowa
(NCAAF) Badgers (WIS) vs. Hawkeyes (IOW),
Point Spread: -2.50 | -115.00 Hawkeyes (IOW) (Home)
Result: Win
The Hawkeyes probably care little that they might be one of the best 5-3 teams in the country, but it means a bit to us. True, Iowa has thrown in a couple of disappointing efforts (at Ohio State and Michigan State) and blew a late lead at home vs. Iowa State way back in early September, but the Hawkeyes still look to have a much-sharper edge this season because of their offense under new coordinator Tim Lester. Unleashed has been RB Kaleb Johnson (1144 YR and 17 TDs), as the blistering Iowa infantry is gaining a healthy 5.7 ypc, and QB Cade McNamara at least capable of looking downfield. Fundamentals are dicey for Wisconsin, which revived in October behind a rushing game posting big yardage before things bogged down last week vs. Penn State, gaining only 81 yards on the round. Another robust Phil Parker Iowa rush defense (ranks 17th, allowing only 104 ypg) figures to cause a problem for Luke Fickell's offense. Iowa has also had the edge on Wiscy the past two seasons, winning and covering both meetings, and the Iowa City edge cannot be dismissed here. Play Iowa
