Hawaii at Fresno State
(NCAAF) Rainbow Warriors (HAW) vs. Bulldogs (FRE),
Point Spread: -12.00 | -110.00 Bulldogs (FRE) (Home)
Result: Loss
An inflection point this season for Fresno might have come in the second half two weeks ago at Nevada, when Tim Skipper's defense bucked-up, shut out the Wolf Pack in the final 30 minutes and paced a 24-21 win to restore confidence in the Central Valley. The momentum continued in last week's 33-10 win over San Jose State in which the Bulldogs defense continued its recent ascent, recording four picks off of Spartan QBs. Meanwhile, mainland travel has proven especially treacherous this season for the Rainbow Warriors, who are 0-3 on the road, and recently absorbed a 42-10 beating at Washington State. Timmy Chang leaned more on the run game last week vs. Nevada but was also playing from ahead vs. the Wolf Pack; Hawaii is likely going to have to let QB Brayden Schager go up top a lot more if playing from behind, as we expect. Fresno QB Mikey Keene is also completing nearly 70% of his passes across the past three games as the Bulldog offense begins to display a sharper edge, and the team looks to be invested in keeping the well-liked interim Skipper on the job full-time after this season.
