Devils at Oilers
(NHL) Devils (NJ) vs. Oilers (EDM),
Money Line: -108.00 Oilers (EDM) (Home)
Result: Loss
Will the Dr. Jekyll, or Mr. Hyde, versions of New Jersey show up tonight at Rogers Place? The side that walloped the Canucks 6-0 to begin this road trip or the side that looked as flat as the plains of Alberta in a 3-0 loss to the Flames? While we ponder these inconsistencies of the Devils, we are more compelled by recent form of Edmonton, which does play a second game in 24 hours but also won its fourth in five outings last night in Calgary. With the exception of last Monday's game in Columbus when the Oilers sagged after Connor McDavid's ankle injury, four of the other last five games have been superb, outscoring foes 16-5 in the four wins. Cal Pickard is slated to be back in goal for Kris Knoblauch tonight, with Edmonton winning his last three starts (Stuart Skinner in the net last night vs. the Flames). The Oilers are also a spotless 2-0, outscoring the opposition a combined 9-3, as they circle the wagons in the first two games of McDavid's absence. Play Oilers
