Man City at Sporting Lisbon
(Champions League) (MCI) vs. (LSBN),
Point Spread: 0.50 | -103.00 (LSBN) (Home)
Result: Win
Plenty of moving parts here, not the least of which being Sporting manager Ruben Amorim slated to move to Man United next week (November 11). It remains to be seen how his Lisbon-based side reacts, though in the Portuguese Liga, Sporting is a perfect 10 for 10 in the new season and on a staggering +32 goal differential, with 2 wins and a draw from Champions League efforts to date and well on course for the knockout stage. Swedish forward Viktor Gyokeres is already on 10 goals. Meanwhile, this is a rare rough patch for City, which lost twice (twice!) last week, one of those with an under-strength side in the Carabao Cup vs. Spurs, then on the weekend suffering their first Prem defeat at the hands of Bournemouth. Pep Guardiola dealing with a rash of injuries, most notably Rodri, but also Kevin De Bruyne (who has an outside shot of playing in Lisbon), with Jack Grealish and Oscar Babb also sidelined, among others. The time to take advantage for foes is right now. Play Sporting Lisbon on Spread
