They're b-a-a-a-a-ck! We're talking about Miami-O, a revelation last season but guilty of a disappearing act the first month of the current campaign. A tough early slate featuring Northwestern, Cincinnati, and Notre Dame got the RedHawks off to an 0-3 start as the offense had trouble finding its bearings vs. legit FBS defenses. Come MAC play, however, and Miami-O has started to look like itself from last season, especially across the past three games, all dominant wins and covers; even the closest game of that trio of wins, a 30-20 success vs. Ohio U on October 19, wasn't that close, as the Bobcats scored twice late, including a final score in the last six seconds. The subsequent 46-7 mauling of CMU was the RedHawks at their best, holding the Chips to 168 total yards compared to a well-balanced 518 yards for Miami, with three runners gaining 70 yards or better (Keyon Mozee with 120) and QB Brett Gabbert now on 8 TD passes vs. 0 picks the past three games. Though this series has been competitive lately (last four decided by 7 points or fewer), the Cards have been up-and-down this season, and, off of an upset of NIU, must note they haven't won back-to-back games all season. Ball State also has absorbed a couple of wicked beatdowns (62-0 by Miami-Fla and 63-7 by JMU). Play Miami-Ohio
