Iowa at UCLA
(NCAAF) Hawkeyes (IOW) vs. Bruins (UCLA),
Total: 44.50 | -110.00 Over
Result: Loss
The Hawkeyes and Bruins tangle in Pasadena for the first time since the January 1. 1986 Rose Bowl won by UCLA, 45-28. For this rematch nearly 39 years later, the venue could again prove important, especially as Iowa seems to have played so much better at home this season. On the road, not so much, reflected in a recent 32-20 loss at a very modest Michigan State. But the real eye-opener about Iowa's efforts this season come on the "totals" side..."over" 8-1 the first nine (really!) after a 21-6 "under" mark the past three seasons. Moreover, Hawkeyes scorelines haven't even been close to the "totals" the past four weeks, landing on 52 points or more each game as Iowa has scored 40+ the past two weeks, and rampaging RB Kaleb Johnson now on 1279 YR. As for the Bruins, the offense has perked up behind hot QB Ethan Garbers, so the 44.5 doesn't seem high enough on Friday night. Play Iowa-UCLA "Over"
