South Carolina at Vanderbilt
(NCAAF) Gamecocks (SC) vs. Commodores (VAN),
Point Spread: 5.50 | -110.00 Commodores (VAN) (Home)
Result: Loss
Sure, Vandy hasn't beaten SC since way back in 2008, when Bobby Johnson's Commodores stunned the SEWC with a fast break from the gate. Last year, the score was 47-6 in the Gamecocks' favor. But for those who keep waiting for Vandy to fade this season, well, you're running out of weeks, as the Dores are already bowl-eligible and have now covered all six of their games as an underdog this term after winning at Auburn last week. Already Virginia Tech and Bama have fallen in Nashville, and the Dores were within three points of Texas, thanks in good part rough-hewn QB Diego Pavia, who like Bobby Chacon keeps coming back for more punishment, impervious to the beatings he is absorbing. This looms as a potential flat spot for the Gamecocks, who were never more sky-high than when beating A&M at Williams-Brice last week, but not sure we can trust QB LaNorris Sellers, who has blown hot and cold, to extend this margin in Music City.
