UCF at Arizona State
(NCAAF) Knights (UCF) vs. Sun Devils (ASU),
Point Spread: -2.50 | -110.00 Sun Devils (ASU) (Home)
Result: Win
We remain a bit skeptical of UCF even after it ran up that 56-12 score vs. a wretched Arizona last week in Orlando. Gus Malzahn's Knights have defined a rollercoaster team the past couple of seasons, as consistency remains an issue. Running QBs in and out of the lineup is a risky road to travel, though frosh Dylan Rizk has completed 75% of his passes with 4 TDs and no picks the past two games vs. BYU (when relieving Jacurri Brown) and the Tucson Wildcats. Malzahn had benched Arkansas transfer KJ Jefferson earlier in October; four different QBs have started games for Malzahn this season. Meanwhile, Kenny Dillingham has ASU on an upward trajectory, bowl-eligible at 6-2 and undefeated in Tempe this season. Starting QB Sam Leavitt returned to action last week at Oklahoma State and passed for 304 yards with 3 TDs, and while punishing RB Cam Skattebo (1001 YR, 5.8 ypc) is regarded as iffy for Saturday, Dillingham is reportedly very high on his RB depth.
