Not sure we'll get a travelogue from the Bison on what should be an arduous road trip. The bus ride from Bakersfield to Santa Clara isn't much fun under good circumstances, so we can hardly imagine how NDSU must have felt after blowing an 11-point halftime lead vs. Rod Barnes' Roadrunenrs on Monday. What the Bison are exhibiting, however, is a sharp edge paced by holdover G Jacari White, who bears resemblance to long-ago Seattle Sonics G Slick Watts and is already scoring at a 23.7 pg clip, and an early favorite for Summit MVP honors. NDSU is also canning 11 triples pg its first three outings as the Bison spread the floor effectively for HC David Richman. Meanwhile the host Broncos might console themselves by the fact that their conqueror last Friday in Henderson, Arizona State, is apparently much better than anyone in the Big 12 envisioned. The Broncos have an "over" look after landing that way in their first two games, as Herb Sendek might have discovered a new scoring threat in slashing 6-7 Canadian F Elijah Mahi (SCU has gone the Canadian route before...remember Steve Nash?), who starred in the California juco ranks and already scoring at 15 ppg.
