Seattle at Cal Poly
(NCAAB) Redhawks (SEA) vs. Mustangs (CP),
Point Spread: 7.00 | -108.00 Mustangs (CP) (Home)
Result: Win
It could be a fun night in San Luis Obispo, with the Thursday street fair and BBQ along Higuera Street a nice pregame before action switches to nearby Mott Gym for local Cal Poly hoops. Which, say some Big West scouts, bears watching after reshuffling the deck from last year's 4-28 mark that got HC John Smith pink-slipped at the end of the campaign. New HC Mike DeGeorge (via D-II Colorado-Mesa) has reloaded the Mustangs roster with transfers from various levels, most all of them shooters. It's early days, but Cal Poly is taking almost 31 triples pg, hitting a respectable 35%, and a not-so-bad 45.1% from the floor. Holdover G Jarred Hyder, scoring at a 15.3 ppg clip, remains the glue for the operation. Meanwhile, it's been a bumpy go at the start for Seattle, off 0-2 with losses at EWU and home to Liberty. Regional onlookers believe this matchup reminds of the EWU game, with Don Monson's transfers causing the Redhawks fits and hitting 58% from the floor in the EWU win at Cheney. Play Cal Poly
