Oregon State at Air Force

Result: Win
It took a while this season, but Troy Calhoun's Air Force finally seems to be forging a bit of a late-season turnaround with consecutive spread Ws for the first time this season. Moreover, last week's 36-28 upset of Fresno State featured an aroused and animated Falcons team as the old bread-and-butter option, which had sputtered all season, finally looked like its old self when blasting for 344 YR vs. the Bulldogs while playing effective keep-away, piling up a miraculous 45:08 of possession. The infantry seems to have found a missing spark in soph QB Quentin Hayes, who ran for 91 yards and scored a pair of TDs vs. the Bulldogs to complement Dylan Carson's punishing 120 YR. Meanwhile, Fresno's infantry was smothered, limited to -5 yards rushing. A decorative Fresno TD in the final 38 seconds made the scoreline seem more respectable after the Force had extended its lead to 36-21.On the other side, the Beavers seem to be running for the bus, their remote bowl hopes now just a faint pulse, with their toughest tests of the season (Washington State and Boise State) still on deck. There was definitely no recovery in the bye week following a lopsided loss at Cal, with a listless home loss to San Jose extending the Beavs' SU losing streak to four and spread skid to five. Indeed, OSU has been a serial underachiever vs. the line for a while now, standing 3-12 vs. the number since mid 2023. A late-season trip to 6200 feet and potential inclement weather, plus dealing with a revived bunch of Falcons, hardly suggests an immediate recovery. Play Air Force
