The last time the Vols won oin this series? Way back in 2016, in a wild sequence of big plays in the final 10 seconds including a pair of Hail Mary TD passes, first by UGa's Jacob Eason with 10 seconds to play, then UT's Josh Dobbs to current 49er Jauan Jennings as the clock struck zero. Since then, the series has been complete Bulldog domination, seven straight Bulldog wins and covers, no margin closer than 14 points. A year ago 'tween the hedges, UGa romped by a 38-10 count. The question this week for the Vols is the availability of QB Nico Iamaleava, in concussion protocol after being KO's last week by Mississippi State, though late word on Friday is that he is expected to be available, with fourth-year backup Gaston Moore in the bullpen. Tennessee, however, has been winning games with defense this season, not allowing more than 19 points in any game. If Nico goes, note that he's tossed just 1 TD pass in two starts as a visitor this season, one of those games the 19-14 loss at Arkansas. This might be the point of no return for the Dawgs if they want to make the 12-team playoff, as three losses on the season would make things problematic. Georgia was beaten up physically for the first time in memory last week by Ole Miss as well, and QB Carson Beck, with 12 picks, has been a disappointment at QB. Top rusher Trevor Etienne is also slated to miss this game. But the last time we saw the Bulldogs with their backs to the wall, they came out and dominated Texas in the first half of their matchup at Austin four weeks ago, and the second half of the Bama game in late September might also be in contention for the best 30 minutes of football we've seen from any team this season. Even if Nico makes the post at QB for UT, expect Georgia to rise up...and don't forget the series dominance! Play Georgia
