Notre Dame at Georgetown
(NCAAB) Fighting Irish (ND) vs. Hoyas (GTWN),
Point Spread: -2.50 | -110.00 Fighting Irish (ND) (Away)
Result: Win
The Georgetown renaissance for Ed Cooley continues to move slowly, as evidence is still coming that Cooley's second Hoyas team is better than his first edition a year ago that finished 9-23, and lost 16 of its last 17 games. The Hoyas have already had their hands full with and Fairfield and Lehigh sides despite the quick emergence of 6-10 frosh Thomas Sorber, already scoring at 22.5 pg and looking like perhaps the next great Georgetown big. Early days, however, and Cooley's team has thus far also had a gaping hole in three-point shooting, where Georgetown is only hitting 26% into Saturday. Meanwhile, ACC sources expect Notre Dame to be on the upswing in what also is the second year for its coach, ex-Penn State mentor Micah Shrewsberry, who already has the Domers off at 2-0 and with three scoring at better than 18 ppg, including Micah's son G Braden (18.5 ppg).
