Looking, perhaps, to replicate the success of another ex-JMU coach in another sport, Curt Cignetti for Indiana's football Hoosiers, ex-Dukes HC Mark Byington looks like he could be in the process of doing similar things for Vandy hoops as the Dores have started a quick 3-0 for their new coach.
The midweek 85-69 win over Cal at Memorial Gym might have been the real waring shot after Byington did plenty of experimenting in earlier wins over UMES and SE Missouri State. Of the many portal adds making contributions for the Dores, ex-BC F Devin McGlockton and ex-North Texas G Jason Edwards are both netting 18 pg for what has been a 91 ppg offense that has also shot just 21% from downtown in its first three games.
