As alerted by Big West sources a few weeks ago, Fullerton is going to have some real power outages on offense until Dedrique Taylor gets a better feel for the personnel on hand. A season ago, G D.J. Brewton (17 ppg) eventually emerged as a decent go-to threat; to this point in the new season, no similar reliable scorer has yet to surface. To wit: the Titans have only one DD scorer, and just barely at that (G Donovan Oday at 10 ppg), are scoring only 59 ppg, hitting a mere 36% from the floor, and an unsightly 25% from beyond the arc. Taylor, who prefers a slower pace anyway, has little choice but to do so with the current roster, though the Titans did play a good first half on Friday at Oregon State (leading 32-25 at the break) before scoring just 19 points in the final 20 minutes. Meanwhile, Idaho State has somewhat impressed Big Sky observers, as Ryan Looney's Bengals have been able to slow down capable Arizona State and USC attacks, and kept USD in check in a road win over the weekend.
