Mets over Reds- The Reds remain tied with the Arizona Diamondbacks, who beat the Chicago Cubs 7-6 in 13 innings on Saturday for the last NL playoff berth. Both teams are 78-72, but Cincinnati has the tiebreaker over Arizona by virtue of a 4-3 win in the season series. The Reds and Diamondbacks are a half-game behind the Chicago Cubs (78-71) and a half-game ahead of the Miami Marlins (77-72) in the playoff race. The Reds will start Brandon Williamson (4-4, 4.47 ERA) is slated to start for the Reds against fellow left-hander Jose Quintana (2-5, 3.05). Williamson returned from the COVID injured list on Tuesday, when he gave up five runs over four innings in the Reds' 6-5, 10-inning win over the Detroit Tigers. He has never opposed the Mets.
