The Phillies Velasquez has been very inconsistent this season. Over his last 13 innings, he has given up 8 earned runs. Fedde has been on a nice run lately, going 20 consecutive scoreless innings. Fedde went five innings and gave up three runs the last time he faced the Phillies. The Nationals are playing better right now and have the better pitcher in this one.
