The Virginia Tech Hokies take on West Virginia Mountaineers on Saturday. Both teams come into this matchup off of easy wins. Virginia Tech took care of Middle Tennessee while West Virginia shut out LIU.

The Hokies opened the season with a 17-10 record over then 10th ranked North Carolina. Quarterback Braxton Burmeister put 169 yards, one TD, and one interception against North Carolina and then followed that up with 142 yards and a touchdown against Middle Tennessee. He also rushed for 53 yards and two TDs on 10 carries.

West Virginia dropped their first game of the season to Maryland 30-24. Quarterback Jarret Doege threw for 277 yards with one TD and interceptions in the loss. Leddie Brown rushed for 73 yards on 17 carries and two touchdowns. Against LIU, Doege had 259 yards and three touchdowns. Garrett Greene rushed for 98 yards on 14 carries and two touchdowns.

Both teams are coming off easy wins. VT has beaten a good North Carolina team while West Virginia lost to a decent Maryland team. Virginia Tech has played better defense and that will carry them to a close win.
