Merrill Kelly takes on Mike Clevinger in a solid pitching matchup. Clevinger wants to end the first half in a strong way. He struggled in Colorado (most do) and against Seattle, but before those two starts, he took on Arizona and shut them out in six innings, allowing just one hit and no runs in a 4-0 Padres' win. Kelly didn't pitch against San Diego in that series, but overall has been sold. He's allowed 2 or less runs in five of seven. He pitches well during the day (2.62 ERA).
