We saw the Royals lose two of three at home to the lowly A's over the weekend so the bar for them to have improvement is low. By the same token, the Rangers sputtered with two losses in three games to the Nationals at home. With that, we have to take a look at the pitching matchup and that clearly favors the Rangers. Martin Perez has been stellar, going 5-2 with a 1.96 ERA and a 1.134 WHIP over 87.1 innings of work this season in 14 starts. Kris Bubic has been better of late for the Royals but still has an ERA of 7.41 while averaging less than four innings per start. Kansas City is just 27th in runs per game this season and 28th at home in that department entering Monday. That doesn't inspire much confidence, especially with Perez doing the job on the mound.
