This was supposed to be a big NL West showdown in the City of Angels as the top two teams in the division locked up in a four-game set. Instead, it's been different chapter, same verse as the Dodgers have rolled to three straight wins in this series. Los Angeles has won five of the six meetings between the teams this season and have outscored the Padres 15-4 in the first three games of the set. The Dodgers have gone through the Padres' top two starters in Joe Musgrove and Yu Darvish. They now get a crack at Mackenzie Gore, who hasn't pitched since June 24. He had been shelled in back-to-back starts, giving up 14 runs in 6.1 innings before throwing five scoreless frames against the Phillies his last time out. Clayton Kershaw had a rough outing against Colorado in his last start, which came after three decent if unspectacular outings since coming off the IL. The Dodgers take advantage of mistakes and they're at home here. Los Angeles should take care of business and sweep the series with a fourth straight win by multiple runs.
