Baltimore won the opening game of this set Thursday night 4-1 to ring up a fifth straight victory and they are 40-44 on the year. For a team that hasn’t won more than 54 games in a season since 2017, that’s pretty heady territory. The Orioles send Tyler Wells to the hill here and he’s been good this season, going 6-0 in his last seven starts. He hasn’t given up more than three runs in any of his last 10 starts and the youth movement for Baltimore is starting to bear fruit. Michael Lorenzen has struggled of late meanwhile, losing four of his last five starts and he’s given up 17 runs (16 earned) over 11 innings in his last three starts. The Angels have completely gone off the rails and they’ve had their share of problems on the road. Look for Wells to win his seventh straight decision as the Orioles pick up another victory here.
