San Diego managed to hang on for a victory in the opening game of the season Monday night, prevailing 6-5 as they hung on for dear life. The Padres led 2-1 after six innings before both teams tallied four times in the final three innings to nearly get to the total. In this one, Joe Musgrove gets a chance to bounce back after going 0-2 in his last three starts. He has pitched well against the Rockies in his career, going 4-2 with a 1.21 ERA, a 0.857 WHIP, six walks and 43 strikeouts over 37.1 innings of work in six starts. The Padres are explosive on the road at the plate, ranking second in the majors with 5.13 runs per contest as the visiting team. Colorado counters with Chad Kuhl and he's been chilly in his last two starts, allowing nine runs in 10 innings of work over his last two starts, both against the Diamondbacks. With Kris Bryant on paternity leave, that takes a hot bat out of the Rockies' lineup. Look for San Diego to prevail on the road here.
