THE INSIDERS ROOM'S 10* *Texans/Chiefs* OPENING NIGHT TOTAL BLOWOUT!
(NFL) Houston vs. Kansas City,
Total: 55.00 | -115.00 Under
Result: Win
Total: 55.00 | -115.00 Under
Result: Win
This is a 10* TOTAL BLOWOUT on the UNDER Texans/Chiefs.
With DeShaun Watson facing off against Patrick Mahomes, oddsmakers are leading us to believe that we're going to see another high-scoring affair here.
And who can blame them with these two dynamic QB's going head-to-head. And despite the fact that both games between these clubs went OVER the number last year, I believe that the adverse conditions that the league and these teams find themselves in will help in driving this total UNDER the number once the smoke does finally clear at the end of the night.
Beyond Watson though, the Texans lack depth on offense. Watson is a type of player that can games by himself, but on Opening Night in a new system, with a new coach and a few new faces around him, I think he'll be under a conservative game-plan in this hostile environment.
The Chiefs have amazingly played OVER their team O/U season win total in seven straight years, but now that number is set higher than its ever been. That's primarily been because of the weak division their in, but now KC has a target on its back. With Mahomes under center, the Chiefs have a super-star leader for at least another decade (barring injuries), but I think some small regression is imminent for the franchise this season.
I think this spread is a difficult one, as it's not hard for me seeing this being a very close game.
But the conditions to me definitely point to more of a "chess match," rather than a wide open "shootout."
This number is high, the play is the UNDER!
Good luck, NP
