This is an 8* AFTERNOON SPECIAL on the OVER Phillies/Nationals.

Philadlephia has seen the total go UNDER in three straight. That includes in the first two games of this three-game series, as it won the first one by a score of 6-2, and yesterday's contest by a score of 5-2.

The Nationals won't be lacking for motivaion (despite dealing with injuries), as they've lost seven of ten, inlcluding four in row. They've also seen the total go UNDER in eight of their last ten, including in four in a row.

Zach Eflin gets the nod for the Phillies. He's been good, as he's 2-2 with a 3.38 ERA. He most recently gave up two runs over 6.2 innings in a win over the Braves. Hard to say anything negative about Eflin, I just think he's now finally in the wrong place at the wrong time.

His counterpart Patrick Corbin though has been consistently inconsistent all year. He's 1-3 with a 7.36 ERA. He also has a poor 1.53 WHIP over 29.1 innings of work.

Finally, note that Washington has seen the total go OVER the number in seven of its last ten in trying to revenge back-to-back losses to an opponent.
