This is an 8* TOP WEDNESDAY TOTAL on the UNDER Phillies/Reds.
After the Phillies explosive 17-3 win last night here, I'm expecting a bit more of a "duel" on Wednesday afternoon.
Philadelphia has seen the total go OVER in four straight now, while Cincinnati has seen the total go OVER in three of its last four, including two in a row.
After so many OVERs between these clubs, the value has for sure now finally swung the other way here in the "get-a-way-day" game.
The visitors hand the ball to Spencer Howard, who is 0-1 with a 5.56 ERA and who earned a no-decision for his latest effort Thursday against the Marlins, unfortunate as he looked good in his second-career start, allowing one run with four K's over four innings.
Vladamier Gutierrez is 0-1 with a 1.80 ERA for the Reds. He was great in his debut, unfortunate to receive a loss after holding the Cubs to one run over five innings with three K's.
Admittedly, two younger pitchers here going head-to-head, but that just adds fuel to the fire here for each.
Also note that the Reds have seen the total go UNDER the number in eight of their last 11 in trying to avenge a home loss against an opponent in which they conceded 12 or more runs in.
After yesterday's "slug-fest," everything points to a duel in the finale here.
