Kansas City won the first game of this three-game set by a score of 6-5, and then the Yanks returned the favor yesterday, also winning by a score of 6-5.
While both of those games flew OVER the posted number, I expect more of a duel here in the finale.
Yesterday's game saw seven runs scored over the eighth and ninth inning. UNDER bettors would have been devastated after such a low-scoring affair up until that point.
Neither starting pitcher instills a ton of confidence, but here's a great opportunity for each to get untracked.
Jameson Taillon (1-4, 5.59 ERA) is coming off a strong start against the A's on Friday, settling for a no-decision after allowing two runs and striking out five over five innings. Taillon is slowly starting to turn the corner with his performance and facing this "on again, off again" Royals' line-up is just what the doctor ordered.
The vistors go with Brad Keller, who is 6-7 with a 6.34 ERA. He owns a respectable 64:34 K:BB. He comes in off a poor start vs. the Red Sox, allowing five runs over five innings.
It's significant to note that he's been signficantly better on the road (4-3, 4.55 ERA), than at home (2-4, 7.97).
KC has also seen the total go UNDER in seven of its last ten after two or more straight OVERS on the road.
Look for this early start game to fall UNDER once it's all said and done.
