This is a 10* TOP TOTAL on the UNDER Chiefs/Chargers.
Both teams are surging towards a playoff position. This is a big game for each side. Kansas City is 9-4, most recently destroying the Raiders 48-9.
Patrick Mahomes was his usual self for the Chiefs, but it was the defense which really stole the show for Kansas City last weekend.
The Chargers are off a 37-21 destruction of the New York Giants.
When these divisional opponents played against each other on September 26th, LA managed the straight-up 30-24 win as a 6.5-point underdog. That total snuck UNDER the number of 55.
Tonight's total is set slightly lower than that, but for good reason in my opinion. In fact, I still think this number is too high as far as the total is concerned.
LA has struggled defensively this year, allowing 27 PPG, but KC has been stout in allowing just 20.6 per contest.
With these two dynamic, gun-slinging QB's going head-to-head (Mahomes of KC and Justin Herbert of the Chargers), some would think this would be a higher-scoring affair, but I expect this important game to be won in the trenches.
Ball control and field position will be paramount tonight and in those types of contests, points are at a premium.
Everything points to the UNDER as the correct call in this one.
