This is a 10* AL RL GOM on the A's.
We have an interesting matchup here, but ultimately I think this is one that favors the visiting Athletics. I'm going to suggest playing the A's on the RUNLINE OPTION.
And mostly this pick comes down to the fact that Mariners starter Robbie Ray has not picked up his Cy Young form from last year whatsoever for his new team, and I think that A's starter Paul Blackburn has the advantage in this starting pitching matchup and off the A's tight 7-6 loss here last night.
Ray is 4-4 with a 4.77 ERA and 1.19 WHIP. He most recently allowed five hits and four runs over six innings in a loss to the Red Sox last Friday.
Blackburn is 4-0 with a 1.91 ERA for the Athletics so far. That includes 34 strikeouts and just 7 walks.
These teams are both in the bottom third as far as runs per game, so this one is going to be decided by the men on the hill tonight. And as I've just outlined, I think that Blackburn is the savvy move here considering his recent form.
I'm going to lay the small price for the extra 1.5 runs of insurance with the ATHELTICS on the RUNLINE on Wednesday night.
Good luck, NP
