10* TOTAL BOOKIEKILLER (BIG PLAY ALERT!)
(MLB) Texas vs. Boston,
Total: 10.00 | -110.00 Under
Result: Push
This is a 10* TOTAL BOOKIEKILLER on the UNDER Rangers/Red Sox.

Both teams have been playing to several higher-scoring games of late, but I expect those trends to end this evening.

The Rangers have seen the total go OVER the number in seven of their last eight, including in yesterday's 9-8 series opening loss here against the Red Sox.

And with the win Boston has now seen the total go OVER the number in seven of its last ten, including in three straight.

Note though that Texas has seen the total go UNDER the number in eight of its last 11 in trying to avenge a road loss in which it conceded nine or more runs in, while Boston has seen the total go UNDER the number in seven of its last ten after playing to three or more straight OVERs in a row.

Boston hands the ball to Nick Pivetta, who is 9-10 with a 4.40 ERA. He owns a 4.08 ERA over five August starts. He's 1-0 with a 1.54 ERA in two career outings vs. the Rangers.

Dallas Keuchel is just 2-8 with an 8.84 ERA for Texas. This is Keuchel's third major-league team this season. He was tagged for seven runs over five innings by the Tigers on Saturday:

"Physically, I felt great. That was the main part coming in," he said. "The way my pitches were working in Round Rock was kind of similar. It was just death by a thousand cuts, to be honest with you. It's really tough to corral that. ...

"I thought there was some weak contact there, which is ... what I made my career on."

Keuchel has struggled against the Red Sox in the past as well. But he's a veteran and we're looking for him to finally settle down here, and to match his counterpart.

After yesterday's slug-fest, we feel the value has swung the other way as far as the total is concerned.

The play is the UNDER.

Good luck, NP
