These teams have been playing to several higher-scoring games of late, but I'm expecting those trends to end this evening.

The Dodgers have seen the total go OVER the number in nine straight after yesterday's 8-4 victory here, while San Diego has seen the total eclipse the posted number in eight of its last ten, including in four straight.

Today's total is a couple points higher than it normally would be in my opinion, because of all of these "slug-fests" that these teams have been involved in the last two weeks.

Andrew Heaney gets the nod for the Dodgers and he's 2-2 with a 2.94 ERA and a massive 78 to 13 strikeout-to-walk ratio.

The home side counters with Joe Musgrove, who is 9-6 with a 3.16 ERA and a 152 to 33 strikeout-to-walk ratio. And while just 3-3 at home, his ERA lowers to 3.08 in front of the home town crowd.
